Vacations these days are all about making Memories and your trip to the Mille Lacs Area is bound to be one you'll remember for a lifetime. Visitors can enjoy two wonderful State Parks, one on the Lake and one on the historic Rum River. Resorts and campgrounds bustle with excitement as families reunite for shared summer adventures and then, there’s fishing. Mille Lacs is one of the largest lakes in the state of Minnesota with 132, 510 acres of water and almost 80 miles of shoreline. Beneath the surface are over 40 species of fish including small and largemouth bass, northern, perch, crappie and muskie. Our self-stocking walleye factory is internationally known.

You'll find numerous shops in the Mille Lacs area where you can find unique gifts and tasty treats you probably won't find anywhere else. Many hand made crafts and hard to find treasures will have you returning to Mille Lacs to search for one of a kind gifts.

Our many resorts each have their own flavor and this area captures the imagination and stirs the soul with memorable experiences. In the winter, Mille Lacs is home to ice fishing shanties and thousands of ice fisher persons who celebrate winter by spending a weekend in one of the sleeper houses or staying in a fish shack that they own. Well-plowed roads and three-foot thick ice make the drive out to the best fishing spots a wonderful experience. In the summer, the fishing, jet skiing, water skiing and sunset cruises are enough to take your breath away. The surrounding towns offer unique shopping, live entertainment, a huge casino, indoor golf and shooting ranges, and many fine eating establishments. Come visit the Mille Lacs area-you'll find this truly is an extraordinary lake.
