Buffalo Niagara Convention and Visitors Bureau
Buffalo, New York

Buffalo boasts more buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright than any other city east of Chicago. The city features extensive historic landmarks designed by some of the most prominent architects of the 19th and 20th century including Louis Sullivan, H.H. Richardson, E.B. Green and Minoru Yamasaki, the architect who designed New York's World Trade Center. Buffalo was also the site of the assassination of President McKinley in 1901 at the Pan-American Exposition and the ensuing inauguration of President Theodore Roosevelt at the still-standing Wilcox Mansion. Its location along two major waterways provides a harborfront that houses an extensive collection of ships in its naval and military park, and was the original ending location of the Erie Canal. The Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo’s premiere art showplace features an extensive collection of modern and contemporary art from world-renowned artists. The city districts of Elmwood, Allentown and Chippewa are cultural meccas of the nightlife diversity that Buffalo has to offer. They feature every type of restaurant, shop, and bar. Buffalo’s thriving nightlife is thanks in part to its being one of the few cities in the entire nation that features last call at 4 a.m. rather than the standard 2 a.m.
